Çakıl Cafe

So yesterday i went to a fortune teller in Şile. I am pretty sure many students in Işık University know Cakıl Cafe and the owner Savas Cetin.  He is a really nice man and he doesn’t  charge extra for the fortune telling, you only pay for the coffee. He predicts future by looking into the cap of Turkish Coffee. I went there two times. The first time i went there, he predicted the right things. Things happened the right time as he told me would be, so i was lucky. The second time, i wasn’t that lucky cause the things he told me didn’t happen. So you can ask me why did i go there again, well it is because that i wanted to give an another chance and i was in a depressing mood. Also, because that i was doing this blog on fortune tellers. 

So what did he tell me? He told me that i will get closer with someone who is aries. I will be in a stuation that i wouldn’t be able to decide what to do. The situation will be about my past and my now. (He is problaly talking about my ex with the past but don’t know the future) I will be dating with somebody who has s and t letters in his name.  So guys watch out :D More over, he told me that there will be rumors about me and i will be hearing some bad stuff about me.

 I shouldn’t be paying attention to the people who does it. (He is right) He told me that he was seeing a decent guy who is tall, thin and has a little dirty beard and big eyes. I will may like him. Than he told me to  stay away from my past and not to deal with it!!!! He was totally right. By the way, he told met hat there is a guy in my life that wanting to talk to me and he was shy. (True tooo) Further more, he told met hat i will be meeting an another guy and he could be my soulmate. (right there i was listening with my ears fully open) He has a wonderfull smile and mostly 2 years older than me. I will have fears and doubts . He will give me a rose. Than he saw a hearth bottom of the cup and he interpreted that  i will have a relationship with the guy with wonderful smile. Also he told me that me meeting with this guy will be a quincedence and it will happend all of a sudden.  Of course i have no problem with that.  Later, he told met hat there is an another guy who wants to be close to me and that i should stay away from him because that him being unfaithfull. At last, he told me that i should be taking care to myself.  So overall, did i believe him? I want tooo!!! I will let you know if these things happened or not:) 

Michel de Notradamus

Today, lets look at Micheal Nostradame or the name we all know 'Nostradamus'. He born in 14 january 1503, saint Remy de provence. We all know him by the predictions he make, but he was also a doctor, pharmacist and a astrologist. His predicts was published in a book called 'The Prophecies' which were 10 installement .

He took his first education in medical and pharmacy in 1529 at Montpellier. After his graduation, he got married and went to little villages to be a doctor. He worked in bad situations such as plague outbreaks. Instead of most doctors he stayed with his patients in every situation no matter how bad the disease is and help them. He was very brave and he didn't get sick even once which was kind a shocking. The women he married with gave him two kids but they all of them died because of the plague. After the death of his family, he began travelling. He visited Italy two times and after his second visit, he noticed that he was moving away from medicine toward the occult. Than he started his predictions.

He decided to write his predictions in a book, so he moved to Salon de Provence in 1555. He published his fist book in 1555, Lyon.Later on 1558, he wrote more into his book and dedicated his book to the king, after that he became a doctor in the palace. As his popularity spread around, he became as a astrologist who was working for Catherine de Medicis. In 1564, Catherine de Medicis declared him as the kings doctor and consultant. In 1566, he died because of his gout that he got from his trip to the palace. There is more to tell about the years that he had spent in palace as a astroligist and more to tell about his strugles through his life. But this is a part of his life.

But the real question why we should believe this men? What was he right about that people believe him so much?

Taromancy

Ok, so this week i am going to talk about one of the ways that fortune tellers use to predict future which called taromancy. Before i start writing anything, the fortune teller in zodiac cafe did tell the truth, my ex texted me but i am not married yet so we will see. I am going to write about it later, if anything happens of course:)

Taromancy: It is the most common and popular way to predict future. It is easy too and everyone use this way, you don't have to have special traits all you need is the willingness to honor and develop your natural intuition. It only requires a tarot deck. Tarot deck is a deck of 78 picture cards that has been used for centuries to reveal hidden truths. In the past few years, interest in the tarot has grown tremendously. More and more people are seeking ways to blend inner and outer realities so they can live their lives more creatively. They have discovered in the tarot a powerful tool for personal growth and insight. The tarot can help you understand yourself better and teach you how to tap your inner resources more confidently.


The origin of the tarot is a mystery. We do know for sure that the cards were used in Italy in the fifteenth century as a popular card game. Wealthy patrons commissioned beautiful decks, some of which have survived. The Visconti-Sforza, created in 1450 or shortly thereafter, is one of the earliest and most complete.
Later in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the cards were discovered by a number of influential scholars of the occult. Zodiac Cafe

So on sunday, i went to a fortune teller who works in a cafe called Zodiac Cafe in Kadıkoy. My friend friend went there and according to my friend he knew everything.He knew the exact date  of her and her boy friend broke up and he also knew a disease that her mother had, so i decided to give a chance.I was actually wandering what he will going to say about my ex boy friend whom i talk with at the moment. I mean what can i loose right? She described the guy, so i went there. It is actually not right to call him 'guy'. I know it is mean thing to say but when i entered the cafe i saw three 'guys' wearing a lot of make up, talking weird and one of them braiding. My friend warned me before i go there about this, but seriously i was not expecting this much. After this little shock, i saw the 'guy' that my friend described. It was the braiding one of course. He was wearing a tight grey shirt with colorful stripes on it and he had some piercings on her face. I know i am not supposed to judge but he was looking weird and he told me that he was braiding to make a carpet for his house. Anyway, he first told me to take a coin and make a wish. Than he asked me to dropped it in to a bowl which was full of water. Later he asked my name, age, birth place and horoscope, he wrote them on a peace of paper. He start writing some stuff on the paper that i couldn't read, it was creepy.After that, he started circling some letters and start telling me things about my life. He told me that i    have a sibling, which wasn't right so i lost my excitement and stopped listening for a while. Than he told me that i would be successful in my career, get a higher degree and in 7 or 8 years i would
build my own business. I was still not believing in it but i liked what i heard. Than he told me to asked an
another question. I asked about my ex. He told me that he was into me and he will come to me but he had some doubts because he was hurt by a girl before and he was still sad about it. I had no idea if it was right or wrong but i liked what i heard. Later he told me that he will going to contact with me in 2 days or weeks and he told me that we would get MARRİED?! I was looked at him like if he is crazy. II mean marrying? Yeahh right! He was going ok about the things he had said until now. I mean i actually thought for a sec if it could be right and even smiled but no i don't think he was telling me the truth. It made me happy though, i know it won't going to happen but anyway i liked the thought of it. He also told me that i have 'nazar' on me and that i should do 'kurşun döktürmek'. Did i believe the things that he said? I wanted to especially about the part of my ex. But other than that i think he was lying. Because it had been 2 days and he hadn't contact with me yet. I think i should wait another two weeks to be official or maybe i should wait until i get married?! As a conclusion, acccording to my opinion, don't go there, escipally if you are a guy. I don't know if he is a liar or not but i will let you knoww:)

Fortune Telling

Fortune telling is the practice of predicting information about person's life and it is first started with gypsies and became a part of western culture. Through the history people tried to explore and understand the unknowns about their environment, wanted to have information about their future and tried to control their faith.People always wandered about unknowns and mystrys about life, so they were never uninterested in claims and clues about their future. Because of that magic, fortune and divination became popular and important.

Than some people appeared who are claiming to know more than a regular person and that they can predict the future by using some tools and other ways. They became very popular.Some of them are doing this to earn money and some of them are to help people.








Some people think that fortune tellers are frauds and fortune telling is stupid.They think it is money trap and they also think fortune tellers are using weaknesses of people to earn money. It is even claiming to be a sin in some cultures and religions. But the real question is are they right? In some cases maybe. But there is some fortune tellers that actually can tell the truths about your life and can predict your future right.
